Under the Skin in 100 Words

Under the Skin shares many similarities with a film I enjoyed immensely last year, Only God Forgives.
A talented, attractive star in the main role, lingering shots and sparse dialogue. Yet although it has a more interesting central idea the film as a whole had the opposite effect on me; leaving me looking at my watch and finding the experience quite dull.

The soundtrack compliments Johansson’s man hunter and her journey extremely well, but the direction and story were too obscure and drawn out for my liking. A divisive film just as likely to amaze as confuse. Still, worth trying.
