As a kid the Goosebumps books scared me. Even now the thought of the haunted mask creeps me out. But they’re 20+ years old, so what relevance do Slappy and co have now?
Well, they don’t really. I can’t figure out who this film is targeting! I’m too old, and kids have seen far scarier.
As a light and slightly creepy distraction this movie is good fun, but ultimately it doesn’t make an impression. It’s fast paced and is funny enough in places. Black’s accent grates immensely though.
What can I say. It just didn’t give me goosebumps! Sorry*
