Ex Machina in 100 Words

The AI in Ex Machina isn’t some sort of Skynet monster that deems us unnecessary; but we might be getting in the way of its hopes and dreams.

A three-hander needs its cast to step up, and they’re all more than up to the task. Gleeson and Isaacs create an uneasy tension, adding intriguing layers to their dialogue. Alicia Vikander crosses the uncanny valley but still isn’t quite human, with movement and cadence that betrays her creation. It’s all further bolstered by the impressive but spartan setting. A cerebral sci-fi film, it’s both thought provoking and worthy of the praise.

P.S – We are very lucky to be getting these two guys in the new Star Wars films. Bodes well!
