Not every film I see is for review for Flickering Myth, so I thought I’d write up smaller reviews for notable films that I see as a film lover.
Though it has much more in common with good Disney films (such as Bolt), Brave is an enjoyable film and another decent entry into the Pixar collection. The animation is superb, and the voice cast are perfectly suited. It’s refreshing to have Scottish characters too, as opposed to the usual American accents. The lack of a definite villain is a nice surprise as the film takes quite a different turn from what has been presented in the trailers.
Those expecting the usual ground breaking fare from Pixar will be disappointed. But those going in with an open mind and looking for light entertainment for both children and adults won’t be.
As with other Pixar films, there is an animated short beforehand. La Luna is a extremely sweet and touching story of a young boy finding his place in the family. Innocent and sweet, it’s a lovely piece, so don’t get there late!
